The Dorset Tango Festival in Wimborne9 - 10 Aug 2025WimborneJoin us for this years edition of the Dorset Tango Festival in Wimborne with 3 teaching couples and Kymmes Kreations.This year we are delighted to be joined by Winston & Silvia from 'Tango Amistoso' and Luis & Elizabeth from 'Tango y Nada Mas'. Choose to do the whole 2 days or just 1 workshop or a milonga - you can do as much or as little as you like! There are 2 rooms with classes throughout the day, the Main Hall and the smaller Quarter Jack Room. There is a grand evening Milonga on the Saturday night in the Main Hall with performances by the 3 couples attending and an afternoon Sunday Milonga. Programme SATURDAY Main Hall Daytime Programme Doors open 10.00am 10.15 - 11.30am - Workshop 1 Luis & Elizabeth Using the music of Carlos di Sarli, exploring the use and dynamic of the free leg. 11.30-12.00 - break 12.00 - 1.30pm - Workshop 2 Leo & Tracey The open and closed embrace, exploring the different possibilities in both techniques looking at soltadas - underarm turns. 1.30 - 2.45pm - Lunchtime There is an inside cafe but plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants walking distance. 2.45 - 4.15pm - Workshop 3 Winston & Silvia Theme: Milonguero Giros Learn to have fun with Giros in close embrace in crowded dance floors. Learn the important Grammar Points behind them and various entry and exit options. Closed for evening set up SATURDAY Main Hall Evening Programme Doors open from 7.15pm Dancing from 7.30pm - midnight Performance by all 3 couples Your DJs will be Leo & Luis SATURDAY Quarter Jack Room Daytime programme Doors open 10.00am 10.15 - 11.30am - Workshop 1 Leo & Tracey Exploring the use of Volcadas on the social floor. 11.30-12.00 - break 12.00 - 1.30pm - Workshop 2 Winston & Silvia Modern Alterations Have fun with unexpected directional changes. Learn the Grammar behind the communication process and create almost infinite options for combinations. 1.30 - 2.45pm - Lunchtime There is an inside cafe but plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants walking distance. 2.45 - 4.15pm - Workshop 3 Luis & Elizabeth Exploring the music of Juan D’Arienzo and the possibilities of double time movements. SUNDAY Main Hall Daytime Programme Doors open 10.00am 11.00 - 12.30am - Workshop 4 Leo & Tracey Looking at colgadas and barriers for the social floor. SUNDAY Quarter Jack Room Daytime programme Doors open 10.00am 10.15 - 11.30am - Workshop 4 Luis & Elizabeth Giros with sacadas.
